Have you ever found yourself looking at all the stuff happening in the world and wondering why on earth Tobias wants to return now? Why he doesn’t “stay ascended” and just enjoy life as an angel? After all, we’ve spent most of our lifetimes looking for the way out, hoping to get to heaven, trying to find our way back home. And yet Tobias, who has managed to extricate himself from the cycles of lifetime after lifetime, wants to come back!! Have you ever wondered why?

While it’s true that he has spoken about the beauty of life, his desire to be with us face to face, and his passion for teaching in the New Energy, I have a feeling that the most compelling reason to come back is for the pure richness of what we FEEL here on Earth! Whether it’s good, bad or weird, you just don’t feel things when you’re an angel like you do when you’re on Earth.

For one thing, as an angel you have a much broader perspective. You can see why things happen, you can remember past choices that created current events, and it’s easier to understand the motives of others. But you don’t have the sharpness, richness and depth of physical experience on the other side of the veil. You miss that exquisite feeling of remembrance and recognition slowly dawning in your heart, and the joy of rediscovery is only a dream. To experience those things is why we came to Earth.

Of course there are other feelings too – the sadness of separation, the grief of loss, the anger of betrayal, the impatience of trying to understand what it’s all about. But these feelings are also what make being human so amazing. If we never questioned, we’d never feel the blissful Aha! of an answer. If we never lost ourselves in the dark nights of our soul, we’d never feel the relief of finding our way to the morning, full with a wisdom we didn’t have before.

Out there in the other realms an angel blinks and something new is created. But if things were that fast here, we’d never know the joy of watching the development of our seeds and creations and children and dreams.

A few days ago I was writing a story about my experiences with Tobias. It had taken me back over the journey of my life, and my heart was wide open with the memories. I completed the document, sent it to a friend, got up – and ran smack into Tobias! He wanted to give me a hug.

Since he’s been so preoccupied with Sam lately, it was an unexpected but welcome encounter, and the feelings that washed through my heart, soul and body brought me to my knees in tears. It was neither sadness nor joy in particular, it was just feeling – a lot of it. And I knew, THIS is why Tobias is returning – to feel again.

There is so much to feel on earth, and it’s true that not everything feels good. But even the difficult things are rich experiences for the angels. We have been invited by Tobias, Saint-Germain and Kuthumi to bring our full Self into every experience, no matter what’s going on, because this is why we’re here! Our divinity, our angel Self wants to experience what it’s like to be a human and to feel. It has the broader perspective that we envy so much, but unless we invite it in, it’s not so easy to access that perspective, and our full Self doesn’t have the close, physical experience of life.

Our full Self wants to feel, even when it hurts. It wants to live, even when our body might be dying. It wants to breathe the air, even if it stinks. It wants to hear it's own voice, even when we’re screaming. It wants to be welcomed into this body even if it’s hurt, fat, old or just tired. Our Self wants to taste everything, hear everything, touch everything, experience everything.

Next time you drop into bed exhausted and snuggle under the warm blankets, ready to drift away, relish the moment because you can only do that here on Earth!

Next time you’re talking with a friend and something in the conversation gives you goose bumps, revel in that feeling while you have skin to experience it! Angels can only imagine what it must be like.

Next time there’s a storm, go outside and feel the raindrops kissing your skin and the wind messing up your hair – and invite your Self to join you!

Next time a cloud of depression and despair comes over you from god knows where, let yourself fall into it. And remember to bring your Self with you – not to save you from the darkness but to feel it.

Next time something breaks your heart or makes you mad enough to scream, open up and feel the fracture, feel the heat. Feel the energy of life storming through your body, because you’ll miss it when you’re gone.

Next time the tears fall, whether in sadness, joy, or some strange mixture of it all, give yourself a hug and remember to really, truly FEEL the depth of your tears. They are such a precious gift and need no defense or explanation.

And next time an angel says goodbye, let your Shaumbra heart open deeper than it’s ever opened before and feel the life that calls him home. Someday it will be your joy and sorrow – your heart full of feelings – that will help remind him why he is here.

It’s no wonder that Tobias is coming back. Life is beautiful, with all its light and darkness, joy and pain, fear and hope, and feeling makes it real.
